周子瑜不是台獨 Tzuyu is innocent - something between Taiwan & China
周子瑜不是台獨 Tzuyu is not a Taiwan independence element
舉那面旗子不是台獨 That rotten flag does not represent independence.
這才是: These are:
A proposal for a flag of the Republic of Taiwan, “hearts-in-harmony”, designed by the Reverend Donald Liu
(劉瑞義) in the mid-1990

Taiwan, like many countries around the world, is a multicultural country with diverse ethnicity.
90% of the 23.46 million population has been living on this land for more than 400 years and only 10% was originated from Mainland China 100 years ago(*).
In 1949, the Government of Republic of China (R.O.C) at the time retreated to Taiwan due to military turmoil lead by the nowadays well-known Chair Mao. (*)
The Government had no choice but they didn’t come to Taiwan empty handed.
The powerful army along with strong financial capability played a big role in helping the Government of Republic of China to shape, rule and control the land named Taiwan and its people.
This Government established itself by manipulating our lives by talking over our education, word we said, what we said and finally our thoughts.
Of course people weren’t happy at the time, for obvious reasons.
However, anyone who dared to tell the truth, say anything against the government and/or speak up for the local Taiwanese people, seldom could see the sun the next day .
Unsurprisingly and sadly, at the end, the real Taiwanese began forgetting that they were rooted in Taiwan from the beginning and started believing we were all from Mainland China.

Fortunately, things has been changing for the pass 25 years!!
Taiwanese such as ourselves began realizing who we really are and where we are from (again, not from Mainland China, it’s Taiwan!).
We disagree and are against the inaccurate textbooks with distorted history and wrong family name that was a shorten form of our original last names for those who were originally living in Taiwan(and Yes, I am an aboriginal, however the government doesn’t recognize my tribe).
This poor girl (who is 16 year old!) in the video for sure believes in who we truly are and was not afraid of expressing her thoughts.
However, the government of current Mainland China and the corrupted Republic of China (R.O.C) demand that “Taiwanese were from China” and this make us REAL Taiwanese and this girl really sad.
While Taiwanese started recognizing issues around our identity, if anyone who is brave enough to make comments on this topic (in public and specially celebrities), is expected to get attacked and sometime bullied by others.
A lot of time, these are personal attack without looking at and understanding the issue itself or relevant facts.
Unfortunately, this girl is one of the courageous people who gets hurt deeply.
The amount of pressure she is currently having might not be something you could endure when you are/were 16.
Many Chinese people are now attacking not just her but also another two members from her (singing idol) group.
She is probably also told by her company that, because of her, the stock price of her company is dropping and that a big lost was caused.
This girl had no choice but claimed that she is a Chinese, not a Taiwanese, and said things that are against her will and believes with a broken heart.
You might wonder why doesn’t she just leave her agency/company.
This is unclear for us but this should be related to the contract she has with the company.
Korean idol agencies/companies are known for their infamous contract with young kids (lots cases are in progress in court, all for the “slave” contracts)(*).
This girl has been practicing and preparing really hard as a foreigner in Korea since she was only 13 years old.
Now she is finally officially in a idol team (before, they are just “intern” or “apprentices”) and she doesn’t want to give up on all the hard work and achievements so easily/effortlessly.
It’s sad that this girl’s story makes it sound like we are back to 1949 where no one was allowed to say anything against what the Government wanted to hear.
However, certainly we cannot allow this to happen again; we certainly also do not want people to forget where they truly are from and believe in a fabricated life.

It means a lot if you would share this with your friends.
